Here are the list of daily eating places you can visit in Bontang.

Working Hours : lunch hours until night (22:00)
Type of Food : Seafood
My Favorite Dish : “Kepiting Asam Manis” for IDR60-90, Es Kelapa Muda
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price : IDR150 for 2 people
Portion : a portion for 3-4 people
Tip : Consider take-away. You can cook the rice by yourself because the rice aren’t always smells good. Number one and two is special for seafood lovers out there. Because I love seafood, so I quite often eat here. The place is suitable for family gathering. I used to order Es Kelapa Muda for the beverage.

Address : Jalan Alamanda, PT Pupuk Kaltim, across from the Mulawarman Stadium
Working Hours : 18:00 (prep) until 22:00
Type of Food : Indonesian Food
My Favorite Dish : “Ikan Bakar Baronang” (The Stand is the one you see on the left of the main entrance) IDR50-90
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price : IDR150 for 2 people
Portion : a portion for 3-4 people
Tip : Chilli sauce from Ikan Bakar Baronang is tasty! They roasted the tomato, so there will be the burnt part. But it’s worth it! There is live stage on weekend so it’s a little bit crowded and hard to find table, especially when the venue is holding an exhibition (expo).

My Favorite Dish : “Bakso” for IDR25
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️

Portion : a portion for 1 person
Tip : You can choose not to eat the ‘Bakso Kasar’ just tell the chef first. It is better to pay with good condition of money (no, don’t give her the ripped ones), for the cashier girl is kinda sensitive about it.

Type of Food : Noodles Soup & Fried Chicken/Duck
My Favorite Dish : “Bakwan” for IDR20
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price : IDR20 – IDR40
Portion : a portion for 1 person
Tip : Cozy place to watch Sinetron 😀 Perfect place to have dinner with work mates. The parking guy is a little bit fussy.
- Rawa Indah Aneka Seafood Dishes
Address : Jalan KS Tubun, ahead of New Building Market Rawa Indah
Working Hours : 11:30 (a few stands), 18:00 (mostly) until night (22:00)

My Favorite Dish : “Gami Bawis” and “Chicken Grill” for IDR60-100 and IDR20
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️
Price : IDR30 – IDR200
Portion : a portion for 4 people
Tip : Ideal for dinner time. Gami bawis is Bontang Special Dish! But they are pretty expensive though, perfect for family gathering. You can also choose the type of chili sauce you wanted to.

Working Hours : 10:00 until evening
Type of Food : Buffet with affordable price.
My Favorite Dish : “Soto Ayam” for IDR15
Atmosphere : ⭐️⭐️
Price : IDR5 – IDR30
Portion : It’s buffet so take the portion as you like it.
Tip : Ideal for lunch time. Their customer is mainly PNS (civil employee) and also workers. Many choices you can pick by yourself.

Working Hours : 10:00 until 22:00
Type of Cuisine : Padangnese Food

Tip : The employees are very fun & friendly.
As you can see, the atmosphere is not that perfect for me. If you are looking for a good atmosphere, cafe is preferable. Check the review here.
